About Brett

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as a facilitator and an elite shot maker. I can do whatever I can to help my team win the game. I'm not selfish. I talk trash to get in my opponent's head to give my team the advantage but I keep at a basketball level so I don't say anything out of pocket. I'm coachable. I can shoot the ball really well and I can play defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality to work hard every day and beat everybody in scrimmages or games. I want to be one of the best players in the 2029 class. Hoop Prisms Rankings currently have me ranked at 93 in the country and the best shooter in New Jersey and I want to be ranked higher than that and be the best shooter in the country, which means I have to work for it and earn a spot to be ranked higher.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I've won multiple championships with my former AAU team Garden State Heavyweights when I was 13. I was playing up against 15, 16, and 17 year olds. We won 3 tournaments and my cousin Lamar Carter and I combined for 120 points in two games. I had 25 the first game and had 30 the next game. Lamar had 35 and 30 the next game.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

When it comes to community service, I love giving back. I love helping out the less fortunate. I'm extremely blessed with everything in my life. So whenever I have the opportunity to give back, I would. For my teammates, I try to encourage to be themselves and stay on the right track so they don't mess themselves up. If they mess up, I'm here to help them. That's what brothers are for.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My dad passed away on April 6, 2025. I was also unlawfully detained by the police and they pulled their guns on me. It was traumatizing and I just had to accept it and move on with life. My dad's death was more tragic because I was only 13 years old. I want to play division 1 basketball and go to the NBA to make him proud. I've had a dream of taking basketball seriously since the 3rd grade.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that benefits me as an athlete and as a person. I want to go to a college that has a great basketball program, great coaching staff, great teammates, great academics, and especially students. I want to connect with more people and make new friends and win an NCAA championship.
