About Bo
Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
Reid a sharp shooting, left handed guard who impressed in July with BCB. The rising senior has good footwork and a quick release, which helps make him a consistent shot maker from beyond the arc. He also has enough foot speed and ball skills to drive closeouts and get into the paint to create scoring opportunities for himself or others. One of the top shooters in the state, expect college coaches to be tracking Reid this fall.

Bo Reid is a lights-out shooter who can play either guard position at a high level. His quick release and ready hands allow him to score both off the catch and off the bounce, making him a constant threat whenever he touches the ball. He also attacks hard closeouts effectively, getting to the rim while playing off two feet and making smart kick-out passes to open shooters. His high basketball IQ shows up not only as a passer but also in the way he uses off-ball screens, relocates around the perimeter, and creates separation for quality looks. Reid plays with excellent pace and never seems rushed, consistently making the correct read whether it’s taking the shot or finding the open teammate. He has the ability to heat up in a hurry and completely change the momentum of a game with his perimeter shooting. As he continues to add strength and develop physically, Reid has all the tools to become a highly productive backcourt player at the next level.

Reid is a left handed perimeter threat and one of the better long range shot makers in his class. A high IQ player who understands how to play and consistently makes the right reads, he excels as a secondary ball handler who can keep the offense flowing while providing scoring punch. Reid’s excellent shot preparation allows him to get into his shooting motion quickly, resulting in a compact, efficient release that makes him difficult to contest from beyond the arc. He is also a better than average athlete who can attack closeouts and make plays when defenders overcommit to his jumper.
