Expert Analysis
Aaron Proia | Prep Hoops Scout
-Robinson has impressed our scouts as a rising sophomore point guard that should fill a bigger role in the Dunbar rotation this season with the graduation of several key pieces. Robinson uses great positional size to score over defenders in transition, sees the floor well in the halfcourt, and can create his own shot effectively off the bounce. Love the patience displayed from the young prospect as a play-maker that understands pace and dribble tempo. Would not be surprised to see him get on an MIP list for DCSAA basketball players this season.

17p 6r 5a vs Hazleton
-First time seeing Robinson play and came away impressed with his feel on the floor–especially for a rising sophomore– as a guard prospect that can do a little bit of everything. Robinson started things off with an extension lay past the defense in transition, curled around a screen at the elbow to score off quick give n go, hit his matchup with a euro step and reverse layup in transition, dove for a steal that led to a corner 3 for his team, and hit a DEEP 3 from the wing off the catch. Robinson gets his within the flow of the game but is an assertive downhill driver constantly looking to create for his teammates. His play in transition allowed his team to blow the game open for a nice win to open their live period weekend.

This young freshman wing impacted the game with his effort, instincts, and winning plays that don’t always show up in the box score. He was at his best when he kept it simple and didn’t overthink with the ball. Blake made key intangible plays that helped keep Dunbar within reach. While he hit the occasional shot, his value came on the defensive end and on the glass. Blake rebounded strong for his size and played with consistent energy. He was a magnet around loose balls and found ways to disrupt plays through hustle. Robinson played inspiring and promising basketball and showed the potential to grow into a real threat for Dunbar over the years

Unranked to 93rd. Blake truly has as much upside as anyone on the Dunbar (DC) roster. He’s a long, fluid athlete and enticing flashes of two-way ability. Robinson already knows how to impact the game through his motor and long wiry frame as a defender and rebounder. Offensively, he excels in transition or getting downhill and attacking the basket, but he is more than capable of knocking down jumpers along the perimeter. He displays natural instincts on both ends of the floor. Blake is still just truly beginning to harness his long-term abilities but certainly has the potential to be a college level prospect.
