About Benji

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am confident on either side of the ball. Offensively, I have a great pull-up mid range shot and can also shoot the three from anywhere on the floor and get to the rim using my body as well as having great post control. Defensively, I am good at reading the play and using my speed and length to get my hands on the ball while guarding the perimeter and blocking shots.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality on the court is very competitive. I'm passionate about the game and want to do my best every time I step onto the court and I try to help my teammates do their best as well.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

4H, FCA, Trap Shooting Received showmanship award in 4H the past three years.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I started a car detailing business with my cousin when we were 15. We are in our second year of operation and this experience has strengthened my skills in teamwork, communication and leadership. I have developed teamwork skills through basketball over all the years I've played, and have worked on them even more over the past season as a co-captain of our varsity high school team.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I had an injury in junior high that caused me to miss my 8th grade baseball season and most of my 8th grade basketball season. I knew there was a good chance that I would be released to play before the basketball season was over, so I attended all practices so I could watch and learn the plays and be as ready as I could be to play when I was medically released.
