Expert Analysis
Miles Masercola | Prep Hoops Scout
Coon helping lead the charge at Fuquay-Varina who looks like an early candidate for being one of NC’s most improved teams. They’ve already matched last season’s win total and Beckett’s shooting and playmaking are leading the charge. A quick trigger, deep range, and a ton of confidence, Beckett provides so much spacing for other guys and himself to work off the bounce. He’s comfortable playing with a high usage for heavy minutes, and is looking to take Fuquay to the type of season they haven’t had in a long long time.

Coon had a breakout year as part of a Wake Christian team that achieved above expectations, averaging 17.7 PPG and knocking down 82 three pointers at a 42% clip. He’s a score first guy, but an elite shooter who can also make some plays inside the arc, attacking the basket or getting to the charity stripe. Should be a name to monitor in the Wake County area next season as he looks to put up even more gaudy numbers.

has become a great scoring presence in the Wake Christian backcourt along with his brother Berkley, and continues to show why he’s a name to monitor. While averaging 17.8 PPG and 3.1 APG, he’s knocked down 65 threes on the season, showcasing his ability as a marksman. He’s got a quick release and an ability to make shots off the bounce just as well as off the catch. Still working on putting on muscle on his frame and bulking up, but is a name to watch in the private school ranks for his shooting.

Coon is a huge part of Wake Christian’s surprise 6-1 start, as the sophomore is averaging 17.7 PPG and 3.4 APG through the first seven contests. He’s gotten hot recently with 23 and 28 points in wins over Trinity of Durham and CH and Trinity Academy respectively. He’s a strong shooter with the capability to also be shifty and exploit slower defenders with his dribble and attack the rim. Keep an eye on him as he continues to lead Wake Christian to one of their best starts in years.
