How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I am an aggressive point guard who loves to play at a high paced game. I am a transitional player and love to play defense. My intent is to manage the floor and create every way to win for the team, beyond myself. I love to draw defenses and play pick and roll style basketball. I am a pedal to the medal player and no matter what the score, I like to play until the last whistle blows.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I constantly want to improve myself. I rank myself against myself and put investment into my time as a person. If I find something that I need to improve on, I schedule the time to do so. My mentality is to improve by 1% each day in every department of my life. I love to have fun with friends and I am a guy that probably gets more excited for my teammates success than my own.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I have received scholastic awards for National Scholar and the Royal Black athlete award from Roy High for achieving a 3.8 or higher. I have also received awards within my church for accomplishing spiritual goals.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have been a team captain of several football and basketball teams. I have also served in callings within my church, where I have led young men and women in Church services, community projects and peer projects like: road cleanups, local yard cleanups, snow removal, donating clothing and food to the poor and serving widows and the elderly in the community. I simply try to do what is right.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
In 2014, my best friend and older sister Kennedy Hansen passed away from a terminal illness called Batten disease. This took a significant part of my life away as I was her only brother. Being adopted, also made me feel a little bit abandoned by my previous family and by her. Our family turned her tragedy intro triumphant by starting the Kennedys Hugs Foundation.I now PLAY FOR HER to honor her.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a solid college that wants me as bad as I want them. Education first, basketball second. I want to pursue my college degrees and play in an environment that instills wholesome life skills over entertaining ones. I am looking for a college that will help provide scholarships, grants or both for me to achieve my dreams.
