Mayo has proven to be a key part of a promising sophomore core for the Antlers. Spot up threat who can heat up in a hurry. Knows when to cut to the rim as well to make him a well rounded off the ball scoring threat. On the defensive end, he is starting to put his longer wingspan to more use, with a few multi block games during the backhalf of this season. Hitting shots from deep, cutting off the ball and being willing to compete on defense are great indicators of future success.

The second part of Deer Creek’s sophomore duo that went off. Mayo had 21 points in the win. He was a consistent shooter throughout, but really stepped up late when McGuinness tied it up. This performance makes it back to back 21 point games for Mayo, as he went for 21 points and four threes the night before against Santa Fe. It’s a growing year for the Antlers, and their sophomore sharpshooting duo are taking advantage of the reps
