Found ways to get rebound and steals. Collin also got to the foul line. He will be a priority for small college programs.

His skill in the midrange keeps defenders on their heels. Collins is a reliable free-throw shooter. He reached the 1,000-point milestone earlier this season. His best game of the season may have been a notable 42-point performance and in the District 10 Class 1A championship game against Youngsville, Collins led all scorers with 26 points. He boasts excellent ball-handling skills and a high basketball IQ. His ability to move without the ball and find open spaces speaks to his understanding of the game.

Collins showcased his ability to have his fingerprints on all facets of the game. He was able to score around the bucket when getting to different places downhill. He made shoots from behind the arc as catch and shooter from three. He also had a few assists. He finished with 22 points. Collins found ways to rebound. I would’ve like to see Collins be more active on the defensive end at times felt like he looked to leak out a lot to start a fast break.

Collins is a bucket getter who finds the rim effortlessly in the flow of the game. He is in good spots on the floor to get rebounds. Collins plays at different speeds and controls the pace in which he gets to different spots. He can also find his teammates in different spots on the floor. He makes a living at the foul line and is very efficient from there.

His ball-handling abilities stand out immediately—he’s comfortable dribbling under pressure and creating his own shot off the bounce. One of Avery’s defining attributes is his true midrange game. He excels at pulling up for jump shots around the elbow or off one or two dribbles. Opposing defenses have difficulty contesting this midrange attack because he’s equally capable of blowing by defenders. He can elevate quickly and absorb contact, allowing him to finish strong at the rim or draw fouls. His knack for scoring in multiple ways has led to several 30+ point outings this season, and he recently reached the 1,000-point milestone in his high school career. He appears comfortable leading the team when the ball is in his hands.
