About Ava

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Scrappy, willing to fight for the ball, takes up the ball easily, good ball handeling to get past top defenders, can score from deep in paint or far from it. Will do whatever it takes to win the game

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

For me my mental state is the most important part of my basketball career. If you don’t have a good mental state to play or practice you won’t pursue your sport or want to work for it.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Outside of basketball which is feeder and spring AAU, I’m a straight A student, Ambassador for my Jr high and donate and help out for making programs and fundraisers. I also do track and competitive cheer outside of basketball.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Leadership and being a great teammate will make you go farther than actually being good at your sport. You might be the best on your team but have the worst attitude. That doesn’t work in the future, I find a balance with my teams and build and hype them up even when we aren’t performing the best and giving it our all on the floor.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced a significant challenge this past year, In 2024 my 7th grade feeder year i tore my MCL (Meniscus in my knee) I had thought my career was over. It was only 7th grade but after going off in my Junior High season averaging 15-20 points a game and finishing in 2nd that year i was determined to have another breakout season. All i was thinking about was basketball even though i was injured.

What type of college are you looking for?

Im looking to play in a BIG 10 college. My dream colleges would be Iowa, Duke, or Michigan. For college i would also consider going to University of Illinois to stay only 2 and a half hours from my hometown. Which is Illinois.
