About Austin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Teamwork. I like to be a great team leader. I enjoy communicating as a team. I talk to my peers a lot during the game. Winning is our goal and I love when my team communicates and has a great outcome because of it. I give 100% all the time, both on and off the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I like to lead my team. My teammates and peers look to me for advice even though I’m just starting my sophomore year of high school.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I enjoy travel basketball (AAU), during the off season.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have fully embraced the leadership and teamwork roles. I have also demonstrated good character and integrity when doing community service for my school.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, joining a varsity team as a freshman was a little difficult. I was the only freshman to get much playing time. This transition was more mentally challenging than anything. I had been used to the leadership role in previous years, though I quickly earned the respect of my teammates.

What type of college are you looking for?

Would love to attend a D1 or D2 school. I want to continue my education while also taking part in the sport of basketball that I greatly love.
