Downs is one of those players where you really shouldn’t scout or evaluate his stats. They never tell the full story. Downs is a true we over me type of player that will make whatever sacrifice is needed for his team. He played in that mold again last week. In 2-on-2 he never forced a look and was always a willing screener. Downs looks ready to go this spring and summer. He showed up with a chiseled frame and ready to roll.

College coaches, you have to see Downs play. It’s not about the numbers for him, but more about the all out effort and guts that he plays the game with. He influences the game as much as any 20 point scorer. Downs will defend all 5 positions and will sacrifice his body to get his hands on a loose ball.

Downs was easily one of the toughest players in the gym both mentally and physically. He’s the unselfish do-it-all type of player that every championship team needs. Downs rebounds bigger than his height and can defend a handful of positions. He’s VERY coachable and will be a really solid addition to a program at the next level someday.
