Expert Analysis
Steve Quattrocchi | Prep Hoops Scout
Once a top 30 prospect in the class, Horn missed the entire 2025-26 season after back surgery. Now back close to 100%, Asher is a big wing who excels at getting downhill and getting into the paint. As a Sophomore, Horn was the leading scorer and rebounder at Dunbar and should be in the mix for 11th region Player of the Year this season if he’s able to return to his 2025 form.

Horn is a strong wing and physical driver who has the ability to switch across multiple positions on the defensive end. Asher will need to improve his 3 point shooting to reach his prospect ceiling but he has two years to refine his mechanics and get more confidence. If he can continue to improve upon his Sophomore year, Horn could be the best Junior in the 11th region.

Horn is an athletic slasher who climbs from 55th to 38th after a strong second half of his Sophomore season, including a 33 point outburst against Scott County. Asher has to become a better three point shooter to reach his potential but he should be a top Junior in Lexington this year.

Dunbar had a rough season as a team but Asher took advantage of opportunities and boosted his individual stock, moving from 76th overall to 56th and could move up more depending on how his summer goes. Primarily a driver, if Horn can straighten out his three point shot, he could be a top 5 player in Lexington next year and be looking at 20 points per game.
