ELCA pushed Gainesville to the brink, falling short 48-41. Who made the biggest shots late? It was Ash Vollrath. After a scoreless first half, the big man stepped up late in the game with a drive, a three-pointer and a slam dunk to ice it. Vollrath has interesting offensive skills. He didn’t play much last year but is in line for key minutes if the Red Elephants don’t add anymore transfers. Ash is a sneaky skilled late bloomer who could be appealing for NAIA and D-III programs if not higher. He had 7 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block in the win.
