Combo guard that can fit into a 1 or 2 slot at this stage in career. Works cohesively well with other guard on team to initiate break and continue to speed game up. Team got off to a slow start and he helped squad climb right back into it. Was impressed with ability to find differentiating ways to the cup. Had two tough and 1 finishes in the lane and another spin move off the bounce take through traffic. Can pop for 3 as well and has a solid handle throughout. Another guard to continue to track for Glory Road Hoops.

Mathis turned heads with his versatility as a lead guard. He knocked down shots from deep, punishing defenses that over-helped, and showed advanced playmaking when chased off the line. Quick off the bounce, Mathis finished smoothly at the rim with either hand, keeping defenders on their heels. Team 2’s offense consistently looked sharper with him on the floor, and his upside heading into his freshman season is undeniable.
