Ari is a physical, fearless combo guard that will put his team on his back whenever needed. He has the clutch gene that can be so hard to find at times, and he consistently makes the right plays on both ends of the court. He’s high-energy on the glass and regularly racks up second opportunities at the rim. He has a pretty touch on his drives and can make some of the most difficult shots appear easy. He uses the backboard effectively to frustrate opposing bigs with buckets no matter how far they reach to block his attempts. He’s got range to knock down the three ball with consistency and he has fantastic hands defensively. He’s not afraid to take charges and sacrifice his body if it gets his team closer to victory.

Defensive activity showed in passing lanes, while hustle possessions extended plays. Playmaking reads were decisive, and shotmaking came when the defense rotated late. He makes the game look easy at his age already especially when looking to score the ball making simple reads that make a big difference in the offensive flow. I’m very high on Ari’s game as a guard with exceptional abilities and I believe he will be one of the top guards in the 2030 class. 

Ari is a patient, skilled combo guard that doesn’t back down to any challenge on either end of the floor. He’s excellent under pressure – I saw him successfully navigate through incredibly tough full-court defense multiple times. His patience comes in especially handy on the offensive end. He sees the floor incredibly well and can quickly identify what the opposition is giving in order to capitalize on it. He’s a thorough communicator and never hangs his head after a bad shot or mistake. Zuniga let everyone know how good he was in the clutch by delivering one of the biggest highlights of the weekend – a buzzer-beating three in the championship game to seal the tournament victory for his squad by one point.

Offensively, Ari possesses a lethal combination of a polished floater in the lane and a reliable perimeter shot-making ability. He also demonstrated his ability to set up his teammates, ensuring that his team remains actively involved in the offensive flow. With the ball in his hands, Ari has the power to influence the pace of the offense in various ways.

What’s Next for Ari?
Ari is currently in the 8th grade this upcoming fall, and I believe he’ll take his game to new heights as time passes before, he enters high school. His continued development will only enhance his recruitment when the time comes. His guard skills are exceptionally advanced for his age, and I wouldn’t be surprised to hear his name mentioned more frequently in the future.
