He is a focused and driven player with a strong work ethic. He stays composed under pressure, is coachable, and brings consistent energy while putting the team first.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
He participated in the Notre Dame Robotics Camp during the summer and is involved in activities at West Haven High School.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
While playing up on the BABC team in Massachusetts, he learned leadership, communication, and accountability. He became more vocal and confident on the court, which carried over to his school basketball experience. Playing varsity for the Booker T. Washington basketball team helped him develop teamwork, maturity, and the ability to lead by example.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
While playing up in tournaments, he has faced the challenge of competing against nationally ranked players. Going against higher-level competition pushed him to improve his skills, mentality, and confidence. These experiences motivated him to work harder with the goal of one day becoming ranked in his class.
What type of college are you looking for?
He is looking for a high-academic, high-level basketball program that emphasizes player development and culture. He looks up to his uncle, William Avery Jr., and has the long-term goal of one day attending Duke University.
