The NCAA Division 2 recruit for Hawaii-Hilo was never better than his first half performance. He was zooming and zagging around defenders, making mid-range floats, drilling three-point baskets and scoring in transition while also keeping his head up and looking for open teammates. He was slowed a bit in the second half, but still managed to add 14 points after intermission to finish with his career-best of 32 points. Rise’s activity on the court also led to seven rebounds, a couple of assists and a steal. Brookfield Central will count on Rise’s leadership, experience and overall toughness as it hopes to contend for the Greater Metro Conference crown.

Anthony simply couldn’t be stopped in his team’s win over Milwaukee Hamilton. He started off the game with a quick 11 points, draining three triples and slashing to the basket for a strong finish at the rim. Rise plays with good pace, which makes him very unpredictable as you never know when he’s looking to pull-up for a three or attack the basket. Showed impressive court vision as well, zipping in some nice assists to his cutting teammates around the basket. A lot of Brookfield Central’s success this season could ride on the play of

Rise brings skill, quickness, experience and toughness to the Brookfield Central lineup. A returning second-team all-Greater Metro Conference selection, Rise is a four-year varsity performer who averaged 12.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists as a junior, helping Brookfield Central to a 14-11 mark. Rise’s activity on defense is also a strength as he does a good job of anticipating steals and getting into the passing lanes. He picked up a NCAA Division II scholarship offer from Northern Michigan recently and performed well all spring and summer for the Chapman Basketball Academy program.

Offense was hard to come by for Brookfield Central last night, but Rise still managed to put up 16 points on 6-10 shooting. He’s so fast when he gets out in the open floor, and constantly has his eyes scanning as he weaves in-and-out of defenders. Just found ways to get into gaps and get to the rim to finish while also stretching the floor for a pair of threes. He’s one of those point guards who never seems to get rattled under pressure, and because of that he’s able to dribble or pass his way out of otherwise difficult situations.
