Islar has shown with his play in the past that defenders can’t let him catch it with space on the perimeter or else there’s a good chance they’ll be getting it out of the net. Slated to be an important piece to the puzzle for St. Charles as a junior, Islar’s shotmaking will be critical to his role and team’s success. Defensively, he’s always looking to stab at the ball whether he’s on or off it. He has good timing on his double teams and if he’s able to tie up a player who is driving or operating in the paint, you see the edge that Islar brings surface as he rips the ball away and leads the break.
