It looked like Hoop Smart 16 U would get the win for a majority of the game as they held a lead in large part due to Thompson’s scoring ability. Handing out buckets in a variety of ways, Thompson hit four 3-pointers from the wing alone in the game I caught. Add in a couple running floaters and drives and Thompson can give a big scoring punch to any team he plays on. Hoping to see him make a bigger defensive impact when I watch him in the future.

He runs with Hoop Smart. Thompson was a Player To Watch heading into the event and he showed out. Amijay changed the game with his shooting, slashing, and defense. He shot it extremely well from the 3-point arc and blew by defenders to draw help-side. Not only did he stand out on offense, he was a pest in the passing lanes. Thompson racked up the TO’s/steals.

Thompson is a talented guard for Hoop Smart. He is an extremely quick and strong player. He is a talented shooter from 3-point land. Amijay creates his own shot and sets up others for clean looks. He is also a pest in the passing lanes and anticipates like a scrappy corner in football.
