Expert Analysis
Davis McCarn | Prep Hoops Scout
Temple is a scrappy point guard who has gamer written all over him. He provides value on the offensive end with his elite vision in transition along with his ability to organize an offense in the half court. He showed a ton of poise with the ball in his hands and gave Centennials zone a lot to handle. He is an impressive finisher around the rim and has a lot of different finishes on both sides of the basket to get buckets over and around the trees down low. To go along with his slashing ability he is a reliable perimeter scorer as well with a solid jumper that he shoots at a high clip when left open. The kind of prospect that will run the show at the next level and is worth taking a serious look at over the next year.

One of the biggest surprises of the day, Temple poured in 23 points for the Jaguars and emerged as one of the top perimeter prospects in the gym. The scoring guard has good strength, is extremely difficult to keep out of the paint, and showed the ability to knock down shots from beyond the arc. Playing with a true scorer’s mentality, the junior competes with toughness on both ends of the floor and consistently puts pressure on the defense.

Amare Temple first jumped onto our radar at the PH Freshman Showcase last fall and we’ve been keeping close tabs on him ever since. Temple is a shifty ball-handler that shoots it well off the dribble. He can score from all three levels and also faciliate when he needs to. With Boogie Morgan off to Clayton State next year, Temple looks well-positioned to take over the point for Lanier.
