Expert Analysis
Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Wright is a blur in the open floor. His quickness and twitchy handle jumps off the screen. Against Tabor, he was essentially the only guy who could penetrate the paint and create any kind of offense for St. George’s – he did so with his tight ball handling and change of direction moves. He also showed off a better outside shot than I saw from him the other time I watched St. George’s play. Wright will be playing at Keene State next year where I anticipate he’ll step right into meaningful minutes. He’s a heck of a player.

Wright controls the show for St George’s. He has the ball on a string and isn’t bothered by high pressure situations or double teams, and he can get to basically wherever he wants on the court with the dribble. His shot is a bit inconsistent, but he has the rest of his offensive game figured out and is a great facilitator for his squad. I was especially impressed with his ability to Nash dribble in the paint and find open teammates for three. His height could limit his recruitment, but Wright will make a college coach very happy next year.

was steady and provided stability to the St. George’s offensive attack. He moved the ball around in the half-court when he had the ball in his hands, finding the right man at all times and giving his teammates wide-open shot attempts. He also made a nice reverse layup through traffic which was sweet, along with some defensive flashes by making steals in the passing lanes by using his smart timing and anticipation skills.

Wright is a do-it-all guard with great athleticism for his size. He’s ridiculously quick and has the ball on an absolute string. He’s also an excellent passer who’s able to read the weak side and is very patient in the pick and roll. Once his shot improves – which it likely will given his release and fundamentals – he’ll skyrocket up coaches’ radars. Finally, Wright fights over screens better than almost any guard I’ve seen today.

Wright is a shifty guard armed with a quick first step and the ability to hit shots on all three levels, he can get his own shot or create for his teammates as well. He will be suiting up for Middsex Magic this season and is one to keep an eye on.
