One of the better long term upside prospects still available in Ohio’s 2024 class, King is a kid who has only been playing organized basketball for a few years. His natural athleticism and fluidity of movement made King intriguing from the first time I saw him, and he’s worked hard under Chet Mason to improve his skill level and feel. Still has a ways to go but if you look at the upward trajectory King is on, the sky is the limit for this power forward. I could see King really blossoming at a JUCO or developing at a Division II program, where he holds a couple offers from.

Brush has been one of the top programs in northeast Ohio at developing college talent and King is a classic late bloomer who has improved year over year playing for Chet Mason. He really showed off his natural ability and athleticism at the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo in Columbus back in the fall and I expect him to play a big role for the Arcs this winter. A forward who gets better each time I watch him play and will have an opportunity to star after the graduation of talented seniors, I think King will be a name everybody in northeast Ohio knows sooner rather than later.

One of the top prospects coming into the camp, King lived up to the hype heading into the event. Really assertive in the paint, King was showing off his back to the basket capabilities. One of the top athletes at the camp as well, King threw down a crazy tip slam off his own miss and got another dunk off a nice baseline out of bounds play. Showcasing some improved ball handling ability as well, King is looking like a late blooming scholarship talent for regional Division II, NAIA and JUCO programs to take a look at.

King was one of the most versatile players in the event on Saturday. He is listed at 6’7 and is super athletic. He moves extremely well, is bouncy, and has fast long strides. He can guard any position and lockdown any position. He is incredibly long as well which helps not only guard but lockdown any positions on the floor. He imposed his will onto the game early as he was just everywhere making every play. He was a great rim protector and shot blocker. Many people couldn’t even dribble against him. He showed a really good touch in the paint and finishing.

Another forward prospect who is still figuring things out but improving every time he steps on the floor. King is newer to basketball than most of his 2024 counterparts but has interesting physical tools with how he moves at his height. Playing for OBC this spring and summer, King is getting good experience playing against UA Rise competition. This is a prospect who could look a lot better in a few years with proper offensive development as he expands his range as a shooter and gets more comfortable making decisions with the ball in his hands. King should be an option for a program looking to develop a guy with physical tools you can’t teach or JUCO/Prep programs where he can develop with more in game reps.

King is a prospect who is newer to basketball but already showing his natural talent and athleticism. King plays hard by rebounding and protecting the rim. If King can continue to improve his finishing ability around the rim and get more comfortable with continued in-game reps, he could be a player that looks much better in the playoffs than he does early in the season.

King is another prospect who’s coming along well and will have a chance to take another step this winter for Chet Mason. I’ve always been impressed with the internal development of Brush players under Mason and think his player development skills are elite. If King puts in the work, he could wind up much higher in these rankings at the end. King has a good wing-span and naturally moves his feet well. Watch out for King on a Brush squad with a lot of talent this winter.
