About Desmond

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a combo guard who plays hard on both ends. I like getting downhill, creating for my teammates, attacking closeouts, and making winning plays. I take pride in my defense, play with energy, and I’m always working on becoming a more complete scorer and playmaker.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m competitive, driven, and always looking to improve. I have big goals for basketball, but I know they only happen through hard work and consistency. I trust God, stay coachable, and try to learn something every day that can help me become a better player and person.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m active in my church and enjoy being involved in youth activities. Most of my time outside of school is spent training, studying the game, and working toward my goals on and off the court.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Basketball has taught me leadership, teamwork, and accountability. I try to be a great teammate, encourage others, and lead through my effort and attitude. Going through injury recovery also taught me resilience and how to stay committed to long-term goals.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I tore my PCL and had to spend months rehabbing to get back on the court. It was frustrating not being able to play at full speed, but it taught me patience, discipline, and how to keep working even when things aren’t going my way. The experience made me mentally stronger and more grateful for every opportunity I get to play.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can compete, develop my game, and be pushed to get better every day. I want a coaching staff that believes in player development and a program that values hard work, academics, and winning.
