A prep hoops circuit standout, Perie had an impressive senior season for Hilliard Darby, a team that surprised a lot of people with Ty Maul and Perie being key senior leaders. Another knockdown shooter, we saw Perie have some huge games on the Prep Hoops Circuit. Well deserved entry into our rankings after consistently performing in a variety of settings.

Perie is similar to the entire Hilliard Darby squad as he is a tough player who does whatever it takes to win. He is a senior point guard for his senior-led team, and you can tell they look to Perie as a leader by example. He sets the tone for his squad. He did a great job of attacking the pressure and taking the ball to the rim. He hit a couple of toughly contested shots. He was always in the right spot on defense, and this helped him create a ton of turnovers and made everything tougher for Westerville Central.

We saw Perie plenty of times during the Prep Hoops Circuit schedule and now get the chance to see him again in the fall league. Perie has continued to improve his confidence with the ball in his hands with his best move coming off a steal where he used exaggerated euro steps to create space for the layup. Always been a good shooter with his feet set, Perie knocked down some open 3-point looks as well. I also have noticed an improvement with Perie’s processing, making quicker decisions to get the ball to his teammates on time.

The last time I saw Perie, he was making it rain from downtown with this same Midwest Burgett squad. Tonight, Perie was scoring it in the paint better than I’ve seen him before. Leading his team with 17 points on just one 3-pointer, Perie scored some drives and reverse layups at the rim. Also thought he played tougher, going after a couple rebounds and loose balls. Staying active and aggressive will be the key for Perie, who has the ability to get hot from downtown. We’ll see what Midwest Burgett can do for an encore tomorrow after a blowout win on night one of the tournament. The winners bracket will only get harder as we advance.
