Maiwen, a guard out of Edward Little High School in Maine, continued to expand his game this winter while proving to be one of the top prospects in the MPA. The 6’2″ guard averaged 22.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game this season, utilizing his athleticism, length, and quickness on both ends of the floor. He’s got a great first step off the bounce, finishes it in a variety of ways around the rim, and has really improved the consistency of his perimeter jumper. Defensively, he can guard any spot on the perimeter and thrives both on the ball and in passing lanes. He’s the type of twitchy athlete that could make an immediate impact at the Division III level, but with a prep year might attract the interest of scholarship level schools.
