Aubakirov, a big out of the Frederick Gunn School in Connecticut, checks in at #52 overall and #8 among the centers. Aubakirov is a formidable presence in the paint at 6’11” with broad shoulders, but also shows a nice amount of skill and feel for the game. He’s already a solid rim runner, has the ability to score over either shoulder with his back to the basket, and makes some nice passes out of double teams in the post. Defensively, he doesn’t give up deep post postion, is a strong rebounder in traffic, and does a nice job of walling up to defend without fouling.
