Expert Analysis
Miles Masercola | Prep Hoops Scout
Tyrance has just been quietly putting in work at Cary who is off to a 3-1 start to the young season. Tyrance is arguably the best rebounder in the 919 regardless of class. He had 16 rebounds in their lone loss on the year to Enloe including 10 on the O-Glass. Tyrance should continue to garner more and more recruiting attention as he recently picked up an offer from UNC Pembroke. The rebounding, activity, and production of Tyrance will help Cary win a lot of games this season.

out of High Point Central is our highest rated prospect covered today. The 6’7″ true center is ranked #53 in our class of 2026 rankings and I think has the potential to see his stock rise even higher next season. As a few colleagues have pointed out earlier this year, what has been most refreshing to see about Tryance’s game is him learning how to use his body to his advantage down low. Aside from becoming a better finisher at the rim, he’s developed better footwork, positioning and posture down low. He keeps the ball high when he catches it on the block and had adopted a fearless mentality when he finishes at the rim. Tyrance is becoming a better rebounder as well, which is allowing him a ton of second chance buckets underneath the basket. The next step for Tyrance is developing a consistent mid-range game. This will allow him to space the floor evenly and allow his team to play a faster brand of basketball. I’m excited to see what’s in store for

Tyrance is another sizeable name making his debut in the latest rankings update out of High Point Central at 86. He posted 10.6 PPG, 8.6 RPG and 1.5 BPG as quite the two-way presence in the painted area in his sophomore season for the Bison in the NCHSAA 3A West. At 6-foot-7, he’s shown he can be quite the finisher around the rim and has a bright future altering shots defensively as well. He’ll be a name to keep an eye on this grassroots cycle as a frontcourt prospect.
