One thing about Evert is he will simply outwork the other team. Crashing the offensive glass hard, Evert creates extra possessions for his team and is deliberate with his driving style getting straight to the rim. A team with talented shooters, you need a utility guy to bring toughness and Evert fills that role perfectly. Those hustle plays can win games when the margins between teams are so slim.

I caught Brunswick at a handful of all day events and always left impressed with the motor Evert played with. I can’t think of a single time any player who competed against Evert outworked him. He was the first to loose balls, rebounds and consistently working defensively. On a team with a pair of ball dominant guards with elite scoring ability, Evert just has to take care of the basketball, make shots and cut off the ball to make a positive impact offensively. Next season will be a big one for the Blue Devils and while almost everybody knows about the Drexler and Barnett back-court, Evert is a name I think will be very popular around northeast Ohio next winter as a flat out winner.

Brunswick has an experienced squad with a lot of upperclassmen coming back from last season but Evert is a new name to know for the Blue Devils. He knocked down shots off the catch, rebounded it in the paint and provided a spark off the bench. Already holding good size on the wing and a body that can add muscle as he continues to age, Evert is a player who is in prime position to breakout as an upperclassman in northeast Ohio. However, he’s already a valuable piece on one of the best teams in the region and could be crucial to their playoff push as a complimentary piece.
