To impressive length, Kante adds the easy vertical that lets him get off the floor quickly and make plays above the rim. He runs the floor with the very best big men. He chases down transition plays and can body up post players.

Kante is the definition of a breakout candidate. He is entering his junior season and has yet to break in to the varsity for Shawnee Mission East. But he was one of the most impressive players at some Kansas City club events this summer. Will his size and athleticism translate to the high school game this year? He can play with his back to the basket or face the goal and put the ball on the floor. He towers over the paint and gets off the floor in a flash to protect the rim. This might be one of the fastest risers this fall.

A guy with huge potential, Kante leaped into the spotlight over the summer with the Spurs. Kante is a high riser who can face the basket and get to shots off the bounce. He’s got a solid handle from end to end and a nice array of moves. And when he can get to the goal, he’s able to rise above everyone else on the court. At the defensive end, he’s a terrorizing rim protector with an immense wingspan.
