Monmouth County has experienced a great run of success over the past five seasons. Ranney won the 2019 Tournament of Champions, while Manasquan won the most games in New Jersey last season with 31. Shore Conference Player of the Year [player_tooltip player_id="901942" first="Ben" last="Roy"] and [player_tooltip player_id="901941" first="Elijah" last="Perkins"] are big-time players who will play high level basketball, but they are not the only high level players in the Shore Conference. Here are the top under the radar wings in Monmouth County.

Jack Collins, 6’5 SG/SF Manasquan 2021

The Warriors were one of the top teams in New Jersey last season with Roy being selected to Second Team All-State. Collins was a solid complimentary scorer, but will be asked to pick up his scoring with the graduations of [player_tooltip player_id="850360" first="Alex" last="Galvan"] and [player_tooltip player_id="896677" first="Kieran" last="Flanagan"]. The 6’5 wing moves well off the ball and has a good release on his shot. Collins has a good handle and is an underrated perimeter defender. Manasquan should have a strong 2020-21 season with Roy and Collins back to lead the scoring.

[player_tooltip player_id="900360" first="Pat" last="Lacey"], 6’1 SG Wall 2021

The Crimson Knights have won the last two Central Jersey Group 3 titles, but they must replace their leading scorer in [player_tooltip player_id="896620" first="Quinn" last="Calabrese"]. Lacey looks to be the man for the job after dropping 31 points against Allentown in the sectional semifinals. He has a solid mid-range game and can knock down shots from behind the arc. Lacey has a good handle and is capable of getting to the basket. Wall will surely Calabrese’s scoring, but Lacey is ready to lead the Crimson Knights in scoring.

[player_tooltip player_id="931028" first="Jack" last="Seidler"], 6’5 SF Marlboro 2022

The Mustangs were seconds away from taking home the Central Jersey Group 4 title, but they should compete for it again with Seidler back. The 6’5 forward has a solid post game, despite playing out of position for Marlboro. Seidler can get to the basket and knows how to finish through contact. He is a tough rebounder and a solid interior defender. Marlboro will have to replace [player_tooltip player_id="896675" first="Alex" last="Ratner"]’s scoring, but Seidler is ready for a bigger role in 2020-21.

[player_tooltip player_id="901979" first="Nate" last="Williams"], 6’2 SG St. John Vianney 2022

Williams is one of the more underrated shooting guards in the 2022 class with his ability to make plays on both ends. The 6’2 guard has a good handle and can blow by his defender in the half court. Williams is more than just a slasher as he shoots the ball with confidence from the perimeter. He is a good rebounder for a guard and is capable of running the offense in a pinch. St. John Vianney went 18-10 last season and will be looking for a similar campaign in 2020-21 with Williams getting more touches on offense.

[player_tooltip player_id="900376" first="Mike" last="White"], 6’2 SG Christian Brothers Academy 2021

The Colts started off the season slow with four losses, but they finished strong with an upset of St. Thomas Aquinas and a near upset of Camden Catholic in the state tournament. [player_tooltip player_id="901946" first="Ryan" last="Mabrey"] and [player_tooltip player_id="929483" first="Colin" last="Farrell"] steer the offense for CBA, but White is a good scorer in his own right. The 6’2 guard moves well off the ball and is capable of getting from distance. White is one of the toughest guards in the Shore Conference as he does not mind drawing contact while attacking the basket. The Colts should be one of the teams to beat in the Shore Conference with their deadly guard trio of White, Farrell and Mabrey.

Other Players to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id="900354" first="Brian" last="Day"], 6’3 SG Ranney 2021

[player_tooltip player_id="929516" first="Connor" last="Walsh"], 6’5 SF Manasquan 2021

[player_tooltip player_id="931027" first="Alex" last="Bauman"], 6’4 SF Red Bank Catholic 2022

[player_tooltip player_id="902737" first="Zack" last="Davis"], 6’7 SF Ranney 2023

[player_tooltip player_id="901949" first="Justin" last="Soranno"], 6’5 SF Central 2022

[player_tooltip player_id="902747" first="Chris" last="Venturoso"], 6’2 SG Point Pleasant Beach 2023
