This is going to be a major hit as it will once again help bridge the gap between prospects and college coaches. I have taken it upon myself to add in some video for five players from Nevada in the 2021 class. These are all prospects of different levels! Click on a player’s profile to check out the new feature.
Prospect: Jaden Hardy Jaden Hardy 6'4" | CG Coronado | 2021 State #4 Nation NV Jad
HS: Coronado
Club: Vegas Elite
Height/Position: 6’5 – Combo Guard
Analysis: What stands out in this video is his shot-making ability. Count how man easy shots he gets. His buckets usually come from deep and always with a hand in his face. This singular skill makes him as college-ready as anyone in the class.
Prospect: Zaon Collins Zaon Collins 6'0" | PG Bishop Gorman | 2021 #37 Nation NV Jad
HS: Bishop Gorman
Club: Vegas Elite
Height/Position: 6’0 – Point Guard
Analysis: Speed, speed, and more speed. As important as height is to the game of basketball, speed is a definite equalizer. Add in explosiveness and you’ve got Zaon Collins Zaon Collins 6'0" | PG Bishop Gorman | 2021 #37 Nation NV . What stands out in the video is the amount of ground he gains on his opponents whether they are backpedaling, or running shoulder to shoulder. He’s as fast and fluid with a basketball in his hands as players without the ball.
Prospect: Glenn Taylor Glenn Taylor 6'5" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2021 State #162 Nation AZ
HS: Cheyenne
Club: Cali Stars
Height/Position: 6’5 – Small Forward
Analysis: This is the perfect “highlight” film for Taylor. There’s nothing flashy, simply game impacting plays that help his team win. In this specific event, he helped lead his team to the tournament title. He does a little bit of everything, including slashing, playmaking and rebounding.
Prospect: Keshon Gilbert Keshon Gilbert 6'2" | PG Durango | 2020 #188 Nation MO
HS: Durango
Club: Vegas Elite
Height/Position: 6’2 – Point Guard
Analysis: Gilbert is a pure point guard with all the skills to help his team win. What I like most about this film is how many D1 PG skills he already possesses. He displays patience and fundamentals in using the ball screen. Then he shows his quickness, D1 finishing ability, and IQ, splitting the trap and finishing over a big as the shot clock expired.
Prospect: Ethan Speaker Ethan Speaker 6'6" | SF Boulder City | 2021 State NV
HS: Boulder City
Club: Las Vegas Knicks
Height/Position: 6’6 – Small Forward
Analysis: Take everything you think about small school rural players, and add athleticism to it, and you have Speaker. This video is low hanging fruit, however, the importance of it is that this is only one part of the 25 plus point scorers game. Speaker, can rebound his position, score, from inside and outside, and handle in a pinch. Once people see for themselves his size, and athleticism, more and more will take notice.
