2021: Off the Grid Shooting Guards

Prep Hoops is taking a look at some players around the state that might just be off the grid a tad bit. Lets take a look at some shooting guards college programs might want to start putting on their mailing list for next season. 

 

Jaiven Lowery-Isaac Jaiven Lowery-Isaac 6'3" | SG Sumter | 2021 State SC - Sumter HS 

Lowery-Isaac 6'4 is a versatile guard who has really good size for the guard position. Lower-Isaac will be counted on heavily this season by the Gamecocks and Head Coach Bryan Brown.

Petrie Izzard Petrie Izzard 5'10" | SG CE Murray | 2021 State SC - CE Murray HS (Greeleyville) 

Izzard is a bit undersized at the shooting guard spot for the War Eagles. Izzard really plays off the grid in Williamsburg County - roughly 12 miles south of Manning in the town of Greeleyville. Izzard plays with Henry Evans Henry Evans 6'4" | SF Kingstree | 2023 State SC (2023) a Prep Hoops 2023 Top 10 member. Izzard has a very quick shot release and plays more comfortable off the ball.

Alex Greene Alex Greene 6'0" | SG Carolina Forest | 2021 State SC - Carolina Forest HS (Myrtle Beach) 

Greene averaged 10.7 ppg last season for the Panthers (13-14). Greene connected on 36% (38-107) from three point range.

Conner Kimbrell Conner Kimbrell 6'4" | SG Oakbrook Prep | 2021 State SC - Oakbrook Prep (Spartanburg) 

Kimbrell plays 3 sports for the Knights. Kimbrell averaged 17.6 ppg and 8.2 rebounds last season. Kimbrell 6'4 has a very slender-sleek frame. Kimbrell made 84 three pointers last season.

Banks Atkins Banks Atkins 5'10" | SG Chapman | 2021 State SC - Chapman HS 

Atkins has a 5.0 GPA in the classroom for the Panthers. Atkins averaged 13.3 ppg this past season for the Panthers (18-8). Atkins connected on 34% (50-149) from behind the arc.

Jaquan Fletcher Jaquan Fletcher 5'10" | SG Manning | 2021 SC - Manning HS 

Fletcher is a bit undersized at the shooting guard position. Fletcher finds a way to score the ball and even recorded a 35 point game this past season for the Monarchs.

Weston Glassgow Weston Glassgow 6'2" | SG Dillon Christian | 2021 State SC - Dillon Christian (pictured on the front) 

Glassgow was a great addition to the Warriors roster last year after transferring in from South Florence HS. Glassgow averaged 17.1 ppg, 6.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3 steals this past season. The Warriors made a trip to the SCISA Class 2A Final 4 before getting ousted by Bethesda Day (GA). Glassgow connected on 46% (72-158) from three point range.

Slater Miller Slater Miller 6'3" | SG West-Oak | 2021 State SC - West-Oak HS (Westminster) 

Miller plays in the very northwestern part of the state in Oconee County. Miller 6'3 averaged 14.9 ppg last season for the Warriors (14-13). Miller shot 35% (49-140) from three point range while connecting on 51% (80-158) from 2 point range.
