Flying Under the Radar: 2022 Prospects Pt 2

<p>PrepHoopsIllinois takes a deep dive into the class of 2022 to find prospects Flying Under the Radar!  These prospects are sleepers who are on the verge of emerging.  Here is our <strong>2022 Flying Under the Radar Prospects: Part 2</strong>!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863606" first="Miles" last="Casey"] (St. Ignatius)</strong></p> <p>Casey is a crafty left handed point guard.  He had a nice summer last year on the travel team circuit running the show while showing he can hit pull up jumpers as well.  Didn’t get a ton of varsity tick last year, but will be a key player the next two seasons for the Catholic League program.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="925196" first="Yosef" last="Oliff"] (Niles North)</strong></p> <p>Oliff played well last season off the play of his Maryland commit teammate in the backcourt.  This 5’11” point guard is a crisp passer that makes excellent dishes to open teammates.  Also a really good spot up shooter that has excelled at hitting triples from the corners.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863616" first="Mysean" last="Vaughn"] (Simeon)</strong></p> <p>Vaughn is another Simeon prospect that didn’t play varsity as a sophomore, but has potential at the college level.  Angular left handed guard that is one of the more vocal players we have seen in a while.  Slick slasher that turns up the intensity on the defensive end from the combo guard spot.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863636" first="Mekhi" last="Phillips"] (Springfield Lanphier)</strong></p> <p>Smaller left handed point guard that is a really good three point shooter.  Reminiscent of several recent Lanphier guards where he plays bigger than his height and shoots it at a high level from deep!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863630" first="Ethan" last="Ivan"] (Batavia)</strong></p> <p>Ivan is a combo forward that presents size and mobility.  Could emerge this upcoming season with their star moving on to the college level.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863628" first="James" last="Qualley"] (Stevenson)</strong></p> <p>Qualley is a high level shooter that shined last fall in multiple camp settings.  Crisp release with consistent accuracy.  He has clean mechanics and lets it fly off the catch like he knows it is going in.  Should see a bigger role next year with the oldest Ambrose graduating.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Kenyan Davis (Hampshire)</strong></p> <p>Davis is a combo guard that has length and athleticism.  Quality perimeter shooter with projectability.  One to track as he moves into his upperclassmen years.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863633" first="Jayden" last="Dean"] (Neuqua Valley)</strong></p> <p>All fall long this kid impressed!  This guard was always in attack mode getting in the lane with his quickness off the dribble where he finished well around bigger defenders.  Dean is a pesky on ball defender with active hands and gets steals.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="925201" first="Sean" last="Paige"] (Willowbrook)</strong></p> <p>The 6’7” four man competed against an older and stronger frontlines and held his own.  Capable shot blocker.  Solid rebounder and defender with upside offensively.  Shows physical tools that can be developed long term.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863639" first="Brady" last="Moore"] (Breese Central)</strong></p> <p>Moore is one of the more productive 2022 guards in the 618.  Scoring two guard at 6’2” who is a crisp ball handler and gets to the rim pretty consistently where he makes tough layups.  Improving shooter.</p>
