The Review

At the Top – Another title for the Islanders. It’s not about "did they win the league" any more, it’s about "did they lose a game this year" in the league. So did they? NO. 14-0.

The Surprise – Richfield. The Spartans brought a lot back from their 1-13 (6-21) team of last year but sometimes that just means you are bringing back players that are about to get beat up again. Not this club! Richfield went from a young team gaining experience through taking beatings to a balanced 23-6 squad that had six guys that are regularly double-figure capable. [player_tooltip player_id="774836" first="Lamar" last="Grayson"], [player_tooltip player_id="774779" first="Ryan" last="Miles"], and [player_tooltip player_id="958679" first="Mitchell" last="January"] led the way.

What Happened? - St Croix Lutheran was a young, sophomore crew last year that went 15-13 last year. We thought they would get close to 20 wins but instead they went 13-13. What we failed to notice was how much tougher the Crusaders schedule was this year. They actually improved final QRF ranking wise 16 spots (40 to 24)! The problem was the league losses to Fridley and the double figure losses to Richfield.
