#11 Macaleab Rich Macaleab Rich 6'5" | SF East St. Louis | 2023 State #261 Nation IL (East St. Louis)
The x-factor for the Flyers in their sectional semi win against Marion was 2023 6’4” small forward Macaleab Rich Macaleab Rich 6'5" | SF East St. Louis | 2023 State #261 Nation IL . Physical bodied forward that is built like an outside linebacker. He was excellent on the glass offensively getting second chance points with his quick second jump. Right handed hook shot, quick pass, and closed out the night with a corner three. Really bright future. Finished with 15 points and 6 rebounds.
#12 Kyle Ingram Kyle Ingram 6'7" | PF Sacred Heart Griffin | 2020 State IL (Sacred Heart Griffin)
Ingram is an intriguing stretch four man that emerged in our eyes in a game against Normal U-High. Stands at 6’7” with the ability to shoot it from three point range where he hit a trio of them. Quality shot preparation and clean looking shooting stroke. The lengthy post showed he could score inside on quick moves and be effective in the mid-range. Liked what he displayed as a distributor with quite a few outstanding passes. He had 16 points on the night.
#13 Roland McCoy Roland McCoy 6'1" | SG Kenwood | 2020 State IL (Kenwood)
McCoy is a two guard that had buzz coming into the season and he is lived up to the billing early in the year with his scoring from the perimeter especially against Leo. He is a bit undersized at the two guard spot, but this kid can really get buckets! Drilled an array of jump shots from beyond the arc. Also has the athleticism to make quick and decisive moves to the cup. McCoy finished with 19 points.
#14 Cole Davis Cole Davis 5'11" | PG Bloomington Central Catholic | 2020 State IL (Bloomington Central Catholic)
Davis was one of the breakout players on Friday night at the O’Fallon Shootout. The 5’11” point guard came out throwing straight fire against Pinckneyville. Lights out three point shooter with deep range on his shot. Also mixed in a few creative drives to the hoop. Not super athletic, but got the job done. Also made regular trips to the foul line going 6-6. He had 21 points (6-8 FG).
#15 Damari Wheler-Thomas (Larkin)
My first look at this Larkin guard was at the Proviso West Holiday Tournament against Hyde Park. At 5’11” the point guard made consistent trips to the foul line where he knocked down his shots from the charity stripe. Solid perimeter shooter drilling a pair early in the contest. Used his speed in transition and flashed some athleticism. Pesky on ball defender that put pressure on opposing guards. He had 26 points.
