#21 Drew Thompson Drew Thompson 6'1" | SG Effingham | 2021 State IL (Effingham)
Thompson had it working in the first half for Effingham against Mt. Vernon. The junior combo guard is a scrappy guard with skill. He knocked down a trio of threes and showcased the ability to handle it making passes and scores on the move. Probably the best outing we have seen from him in his career. Went for 21 points.
#22 Ari Brown Ari Brown 5'11" | PG Thornton | 2020 State IL (Thornton)
Brown is a senior guard that in the last two games we have seen Thornton play has shot absolutely lights out. The smaller combo guard was the force that drove Thornton in the game against Bloom with his three point shooting. Went for 23 points.
#23 JT Welch (Bloomington Central Catholic)
Welch stands at 5’10”. This flashy point guard plays with a lot of flair. He has shifty handles and won off the dribble getting in the lane for acrobatic scoop shots in the lane at the O’Fallon Shootout. Decent three point shooter. Creative passer that is also a pesky defender at the point. He had 13 points, 2 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals.
#24 DeMarco Clayton (Bloomington – 2021)
Clayton burst on our radar during the summer with All-In. He took it to another level for his high school squad at the Pontiac Holiday Tournament. The two guard is a high level athlete with his best plays often coming in transition. Slick ball handler that had a couple sweet conversions on scoop shots and euro steps. As the game went on he started to settle in shooting it as well knocking in a pick and pop three along with another three ball. Clayton had 18 points.
#25 Carter Dawson Carter Dawson 6'6" | PG Pontiac | 2020 State IL (Pontiac – 2020)
Dawson will play baseball at the next level, but this 6’6” point-forward would be worthy of D2 consideration if he wasn’t. Every year we see him at Pontiac we have been impressed. He has gotten stronger being able to post up smaller defenders with his strength and quickness. Playmaker with the ball in his hands that went for 23 points on the second day of the PHT.
