With these, we want to highlight 3 players who are similar in class and position. Get some time to dive into some quick thoughts, stat breakdowns, and film. Today, we are looking at 2022 Small Forwards in Steele Brasfield, Andrew Leeper Andrew Leeper 6'6" | PF Homestead | 2022 State IN , and Billy Smith Billy Smith 6'7" | SF Brebeuf Jesuit | 2022 State IN .
Steele Brasfield – 6’5 SF 2022 – New Palestine (IN)
Stats: 6.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 1.2 apg
Thoughts: Steele is a long, lanky wing with some length and a gun from distance. He was really good off the catch looking to shoot quickly and often. He does have enough handles to drive a bit, but at this point, he is much more set to be a guy that produces mostly from distance. He has great size already and should fill out the frame over the next few years. There is enough upside there, especially if he shows some dribble-drive ability that could lead to more mid-range opportunities.

– 6’5 SF 2022 – Plainfield (IN)
Stats: 8.3 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 1.0 apg
Thoughts: Leeper is a big wing with size and skill that has been playing well late in the season. He has struggled shooting the ball, but the form is there. and he has all of the mechanics to be a solid shooter from the outside. He is really impactful playing in the open floor and creating scoring opportunities going at the rim. His rebounding, passing, and defense are all done extremely well by Leeper, and he shows good energy on the floor that led to plays for his team. He is definitely a player to watch in the future.

– 6’5 SF 2022 – Brebeuf Jesuit (IN)
Stats: 13.4 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 1.4 apg
Thoughts: Smith is a long, rangy wing that can really light it up from deep. He has a nice, repeatable release that has a lot of height to it along with his size making it tough to step out on. He has had some turnover problems at times this season, but I don’t believe that this will be a big problem in the future. He does use his size well and really can get in there and mix it up in the paint. He has a ton of room to grow in the future, and he has the potential to be a star for Brebeuf Jesuit in the future.
