Minnesota Playoff Central – Fear Wayzata
The Wednesday night highlight was a great game between Armstrong and Wayzata. The Trojans have won 9 of their last 13 games and next up is Hopkins.
The Big Stage. St. Peter High School. There are a lot of double headers tonight but the wonderful St. Peter facilities are hosting a double-header of #1 BOLD taking on Sleepy Eye-St. Mary’s followed by Mayer Lutheran facing ranked New Ulm Cathedral. Mayer Lutheran has been hit by injuries and other things this year so tonight is their chance to take a lot of that back. The Class 2A sub-section semis are tonight as we look forward to seeing how fantastic the pair of 2A sub-section finals will be.
Upset City! Based on the records Wayzata defeating Armstrong 54-52 in overtime is an upset but really this was just a tough first round section game (that shouldn’t of happened as Armstrong should of been the 2 seed, or 3 seed at worst) between talented teams.

scored a team high 16 for Armstrong. Next up? Wayzata versus Hopkins while Cooper plays St. Louis Park who earned their 12th win of the season by sneaking past Washburn 73-70.
Right on Schedule. Dain Dainja Dain Dainja 6'9" | C Park Center | 2020 State #48 Nation MN is back in uniform for the Park Center Pirates making an impact. He scored 20 early for PC and then had an early seat to watch Park Center crush Centennial 87-49. Park Center is good a team with or without their big but the high school basketball run is better with Dainja in uniform so it’s great to see that he’s back on the court. DT Frierson scored 16, Josh Grisby had 14.
Tip of the Hat to the Career.

playing at Minnetonka basketball camps eight years ago dominating games and playing as hard as anybody on the floor, It has been so fun to watch Steele grow as a player including his 25 point per game average for the Skippers this season. Steele is headed to Abilene Christian next year at the D1 level and it’s going to be very fun to watch his progress at the school the next several years.
Where’s the Czar? TC Hoops Czar took in the Minneapolis Henry versus Orono game. Orono is a combination of youth and experience while Henry is a loaded senior bunch and last night they ended Orono’s year with a 68-58 win. Henry got big minutes from their bench, read about it from the Czar!
