St. Cloud Tech-Minneapolis Henry Standouts: Day 1 of Granite City Classic

<p><strong>ST. CLOUD-- </strong>Northstar Hoops was in attendance for one of the two boy's basketball games at the Granite City Classic yesterday as we were at the new St. Cloud Tech High School for the games there. We watched the quick and elusive Minneapolis Patrick Henry/FAIR Patriots (5-3) take on the struggling St Cloud Tech Tigers (0-7) From the start, this game was all Patrick Henry/FAIR as they rallied to an 85-59 victory. These are my 5 standouts from this one.</p> <p><strong>Nate Trewick, Guard, St. Cloud Tech (2020)</strong></p> <p>Trewick was the top guard for the 0-7 Tigers last night. He made his presence known with his quick three-pointers that created a small spark for the Tigers offensively. Trewick finished in double digits with 12 points on the night for the winless Tigers of St. Cloud Tech as was the 2nd leading scorer.</p> <p><strong>Jamar Gardner, Guard, Minneapolis Henry/FAIR (2020)</strong></p> <p>Jamar Gardner pitched in 11 points for the Patriots as there elusive offensive was firing on all cylinders last night against St. Cloud Tech. Gardner also was one of the team leaders on the rebounds. He was one of three Patriots in double digits and played a solid game last night in St. Cloud.</p> <p><strong>Glentrell Carter, Guard, Minneapolis Henry/FAIR (2020)</strong></p> <p>Carter was on absolute fire in the first half and gets my first-half MVP in this game against the Tigers. He could drive the bucket, knock down a key three, and hit the mid-range shot efficiently. He ended his night with 18 points, and multiple rebounds to dominate the pace of play of the game against the overmatched Tigers.</p> <p><strong>Devyn Yeager, Forward, St. Cloud Tech (2022)</strong></p> <p>Yeager as only a sophomore, was a promising prospect for the Tigers last night. His 18 points accounted for almost 31% of the Tigers scoring last night as he was a beast in the inside post against the smaller lineup of the Patriots. I think he's a name we should remember out of St. Cloud prospects over the next few years, as I think he's going to be one of the top players in the area.</p> <p><strong>Game MVP</strong></p> <p><strong>Quamar Gresham, Guard, Minneapolis Henry/FAIR (2021)</strong></p> <p>Gresham gets my game MVP for his consistency across both halves. With the depth that Minneapolis Patrick Henry has as far as quick elusive guards, it took a little while for us to get to know Gresham's game. After one two-pointer early, he went fire pop on 3 straight three-pointers which got him on our halftime list for scoring for Patrick Henry. His second-half play was more focused on the mid-range shot and the dribble drives in which he finished with 21 points for the Patriots of Minneapolis Henry/FAIR as they went to 5-3 on the season in a large part of Gresham's contributions.</p>
