While everyone went to sleep last night excited to wake up this morning to family, elaborate meals, and whatever Santa left under the Christmas tree they will all hit the pillow tonight with similar eager anticipation for the start of the historic Blue & Gold Tournament from the campus of Missouri State starting in the morning. This event is traditionally a holiday highlight in southwest Missouri and this year is certain to be no exception.
The Gold Division boasts some big time star power, headlined by elite juniors Anton Brookshire (Kickapoo) and Aminu Mohammed (Greenwood). Both Kickapoo and Greenwood are powerful teams and could present a dream match-up in the championship game. The road will not be easy for either of them. Last year’s runner-up, Ozark, is the #2 seed and will bring a deep and talented group capable of making another deep run. Other teams capable of causing problems include Republic, Fair Grove, and Strafford.
Here’s a rundown of the Gold Division bracket as well as some of the players to keep an eye on when action tips off tomorrow morning:
