Let’s dive in and take a look at who stood out in the area on Tuesday, December 17th.
Kobe Bufkin, Grand Rapids Christian, 2021
Bufkin, considered to be the most sought after guard in the area in the 2021 class led the Eagles with 29 points, defeating Grand Rapids Catholic Central, a team that has been a popular pick to represent West Michigan at the Breslin Center in March.
Chanse Crittendon, Comstock Park, 2020
The senior wing scored at will during Tuesday night’s 66-64 loss to Hopkins, tallying 29 points. Comstock Park will be much improved from a season ago with performances like this from its senior leader.
Jack Karasinski, Grand Rapids Catholic Central, 2022
Karasinski tallied 18 points in a loss to Grand Rapids Christian on Tuesday. Karasinski’s 6’5″ frame and athletic ability are reasons why he’s gaining interest from a number of Division I teams. His development will be crucial to Catholic Central’s March aspirations.
Jeremiah Pittman, Grand Rapid Union, 2020
Pittman scored 23 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in Tuesday night’s 50-49 win over Rockford. Consistent outings like this from Pittman will make the Redhawks a dangerous team to match up with.
Ray’Vaughn Anderson, Grand Rapids Union, 2020
Anderson joined Pittman in Union’s efforts to pick up a marquee non-conference win over the Rams, recording 17 points. The Redhawks will look to get out to a 3-0 record with a win over Dowagiac on Friday.
Riley Fields, Wayland, 2021
Junior guard Riley Fields scored 18 points in a 89-84 win over Hamilton on Tuesday. Although the Wildcats dropped its second game of the year, Wayland more than doubled its scoring output from its first game in which they only scored 40 points.
Carson Gulker, Zeeland West, 2021
Gulker led the Dux with 19 points, helping Zeeland West pick up a 68-62 home non-conference game against Coopersville. Gulker asserted himself by drawing fouls and finishing a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the second half.
Eli Steffen, Zeeland West, 2020
Steffen paced the Dux with 15 points and 8 assists in Zeeland West’s win, helping the Dux win its first game of the season.
Menalito McGee, Wyoming, 2020
The senior guard went off for 27 points in Wyoming’s 73-54 thrashing of Northview. It might be time to take a closer look at the Wolves after dominating one of the areas more talented teams.
Kyler VanderJagt, Northview, 2022
VanderJagt did all he could to help Northview win on Tuesday, scoring 25 points lead the Wildcats. Consistent performances like this are reasons why high major Division I programs are taking notice of VanderJagt.
