Here Prep Hoops takes a look at several players who have raised their profile and moved into the Prep Hoops’ 2021 rankings.
31 London Taylor, 6’3, G, 2021, Schlagle
Taylor was an impressive performer this offseason running with Team KC and is poised for a breakout season. He can handle the ball well and adds great size at 6’3 and has good length and control. He moves quickly off the ball and takes a lot of chances and risks that can pay off given his skills and overall ability.
32 Preston Reynolds 6’4, G, 2021, Shawnee Mission East
A smart player who has good size as a guard. He stays after plays and looks to contribute wherever he can. He brings great size to the guard position and shows a knack for his play off the ball as much as his play with the ball in his hands. A player who is making a name for himself with his all-around hustle.
38 Mike Carson, 6’3, PF, 2021, JC Harmon
Carson is a strong, athletic player on the rise with a feel for post play and making himself available along the baseline. He is a strong passer and has a good feel for the position and knows how to create opportunities for others. He was a force on the boards as well, coming up with several key offensive rebounds and even showed the ability to step out and knock down 3-pointers.
40 Kyun Jackson 6’2 G/F, 2021, Sumner
Jackson has good size for a guard and can make some smart, hustle plays around the basket. He has some good moves in the paint and has a nice feel for scoring around the basket. Jackson looked strong for Showtime 16U over the summer and made good passes and looked to rebound and use his physicality to his advantage on the perimeter.
48 Nate Johnson, 6’2, G, 2021, KC Washington
A nice guard who brings some physicality and strength to the position. He is a quick player off the ball and looks to show up on defense as well. He can score when he needs to and can come away with the ball and make plays in transition.
