Best in State: Post Scorers

<p>Time for our annual Fall series “Best in State”.  In this we look each day at a different category and break down what players across the state are the best at that particular aspect of the game.  Today we examine the <strong>Best in State: Post Scorers!</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Sam Schultz (Oswego East)</strong></p> <p>Schultz has a quality back to the basket game.  The Oswego East power forward is a skilled post player with good strength an array of moves.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Chris Conway (Naperville Central)</strong></p> <p>This Oakland commit is a rangy post player that scores well with in the paint using his mobility and touch.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Devon House (Sterling Newman)</strong></p> <p>Wide bodied center that has an advanced low post game.  He has excellent footwork and understands how to use the glass.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Frank Jakubicek (Cary Grove)</strong></p> <p>This Belmont commit is a physical four man that plays with power on the interior.  He garners deep position on the block and finishes well through traffic.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Connor Linke (St. Charles North)</strong></p> <p>Linke has made great strides in his low post game.  He has a soft touch around the basket and garners deep post position loving to use his hook shot.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Brandon Lieb (Deerfield)</strong></p> <p>Lieb has great size and length as a five man.  Buries defender with deep positioning on the catch and then uses touch and angles to finish.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Mason Muller (Porta)</strong></p> <p>Mueller has great size and overall skill on the block.  Good feel for scoring as a post.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Johnathan Oden (Legal Prep)</strong></p> <p>Oden is a prospect that has emerged later in the process after a strong summer with the Chicago Demons.  Good scoring feel around the hoop.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Keydrian Jones (Collinsville)</strong></p> <p>Big bodied five man that carves out space on the inside and has touch scoring on the block.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Connor McCance (Oswego)</strong></p> <p>McCance is a power five man that is your classic back to the basket five man that can score well on the block.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Chris Hodges (Schaumburg)</strong></p> <p>Hodges is the top post prospect in the junior class.  A big reason for that is the way he scores with his back to the basket with an array of advanced post moves.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Scotty Ebube (Mundelein)</strong></p> <p>Ebube is a strong bodied five that plays with power around the hoop.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Brian Mathews (DePaul Prep)</strong></p> <p>Mathews has tremendous strength and is your classic back to the basket five man.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Chad Readye (Homewood Flossmoor)</strong></p> <p>Great combination of size, strength, and skill for a post.</p> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Ola Ajiboye (Von Steuben)</strong></p> <p>Long and rangy power forward that is starting to put combination moves together on the block and uses the glass well.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Aaron McQueen (Lane Tech)</strong></p> <p>Gritty four man that will have a breakout season this year at Lane Tech after a strong summer with the Illinois Jaguars.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Joe Melton (NCOE)</strong></p> <p>Southern Illinois post that is an unknown to most, but this kid can really score around the hoop.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>AJ Casey (Tinley Park)</strong></p> <p>Top sophomore prospect in the state.  He has so much upside as an all-around player including his scoring in the post.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Robbie Avila (Oak Forest)</strong></p> <p>Avila has great size and length.  Scores extremely well on the interior with skill and athleticism.</p>
