With all the talent that you will find in and around the DMV, there are plenty of teams that can intrigue local hoops fans. There is still a lot we have to learn about what to expect for the upcoming season, but we've done our best to keep up with the happenings this summer and have a decent idea of what to look for. Here is a rundown of 12 intriguing teams to watch locally.
<h5>BISHOP WALSH (MD)</h5>
Coach Prete has assembled arguably the most intriguing roster of any team on this list. The Spartans boast a ton of size at all positions. It will be interesting to see just how good the three new international prospects, <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/dwayne-koroma/"><strong>Dwayne Koroma</strong></a>, <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/nestor-dyachok/"><strong>Nestor Dyachok</strong></a>, and <strong><a href="https://prephoops.com/player/dende-ceder-2/">Dendé Ceder</a></strong>, can be.

<h5>COOLIDGE (DC)</h5>
The Colts won 19 games last year and return <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/stephaun-walker/"><strong>Stephaun Walker</strong></a>, an athletic forward who was their best player as a freshman. The performances of new backcourt acquisitions of <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/kyle-gaskins/"><strong>Kyle Gaskins</strong></a> and <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/chase-cook/"><strong>Chase Cook</strong></a> could prove pivotal to the team's success.
<h5>ELEANOR ROOSEVELT (MD)</h5>
Yes, the Raiders lose a ton of key players from last year's state title squad but don't discount the pedigree of their three seniors <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jahari-simon/"><strong>Jahari Simon</strong></a>, <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/quinton-mincey/"><strong>Quinton Mincey</strong></a>, and <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/olumide-lewis/"><strong>Olumide Lewis</strong></a>. Junior forward <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/thomas-whitley/"><strong>Thomas Whitley</strong></a> looks set for a breakout year. You can also expect newcomers, <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/joemel-mcnair/"><strong>Joemel McNair</strong></a> and <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/solomon-eric/"><strong>Solomon Eric</strong></a>, to make an impact.
<h5>EPISCOPAL (VA)</h5>
You never know exactly who Episcopal will feature until the bright lights come on, but we do know they bring back standout 2021 guard prospect <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/darius-johnson/"><strong>Darius Johnson</strong></a>. The Maroon will roster a relatively young team but have a battle-tested leader in Quinnipiac commit <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/tymu-chenery/"><strong>Tymu Chenery</strong></a>. One thing you can count on is the fact that they will be able to shoot the ball well when you consider the attributes those two along with <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/garrett-johnson/"><strong>Garrett Johnson</strong></a>, <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/john-loughlin/"><strong>John Loughlin</strong></a>, <strong>Jack Fitzpatrick</strong>, <strong>Charlie Jackson, </strong>and <strong>Bryce Steele</strong>. Another prospect to look out for among this group is <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/lou-hutchinson/"><strong>Lou Hutchinson</strong></a>, a versatile class of 2022 playmaker with a strong work ethic and a high ceiling.
<h5>FLINT HILL (VA)</h5>
The Huskies have a MAC Championship to defend and have to fill massive a void left by their super-reliable senior class. Despite their losses, Flint Hill brings back an experienced group led by twin towers <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/noel-brown/"><strong>Noel Brown</strong></a> and <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/dowar-jioklow/"><strong>Dowar Jioklow</strong></a>. Lefty <strong>Ronald Ayers</strong> has likely earned an increased role in the backcourt alongside sophomore <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/saxby-sunderland/"><strong>Saxby Sunderland</strong></a>. Keep an eye on Sunderland's classmate, <strong>Nate Pabis</strong>, a 6-foot-3 sharpshooter who is heading into the season with some positive momentum.
<h5>FRIENDSHIP TECH (DC)</h5>
The Titans bring back 2021 prospects <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jamiyl-kirkland-jr/"><strong>Jamiyl Kirkland Jr.</strong></a> and <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/andre-lattimore-jr/"><strong>Andre Lattimore Jr.</strong></a> from last year's PCSAA title squad. They've bolstered their junior class with the addition of <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/yaqin-staton/"><strong>Ya'Qin Staton</strong></a> and <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/maurice-johnson/"><strong>Maurice Johnson</strong></a> respectively. 6'6 sophomore <strong>Gene Anderson </strong>is another newcomer who could make an immediate impact on what should be another strong team led by Coach Shackelford.
<h5>GLENELG COUNTRY (MD)</h5>
The potential in this year's Dragons team is very evident. Coach O'Donnell has a wealth of talent at his disposal. Senior guards <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/noah-charles/"><strong>Noah Charles</strong></a> and <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/igor-yoka-bratasz/"><strong>Igor Yoka-Bratasz</strong></a> will provide adequate leadership for a diverse group of older and younger players. Up-and-comer <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jordan-brathwaite/"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1225259' first='Jordan' last='Brathwaite']</strong></a> will certainly adopt an increased role in the frontcourt alongside budding post prospect <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/cole-paar/"><strong>Cole Paar</strong></a>. Did we mention stud sophomore <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/noah-batchelor/"><strong>Noah Batchelor</strong></a> yet? Oh, and don't forget sleeper wing <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jarod-robinson/"><strong>Jarod Robinson</strong></a> and the ever-so-intriguing <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/garvin-sween-jr/"><strong>Garvin Sween Jr</strong></a>.
<h5>GOOD COUNSEL (MD)</h5>
Coach Kissal has assembled a good young core of talent and could begin to see dividends as soon as this year. The Falcons have a talented 2021 class, <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/bez-mbeng/"><strong>Bez Mbeng</strong></a>, <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/daysjuan-waters/"><strong>Day Waters</strong></a>, <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/antoine-jacks/"><strong>Antoine Jacks</strong></a>, and <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jalen-curtis/"><strong>Jalen Curtis</strong></a>, who are now upperclassmen. They've likely acquired the necessary experience to play confidently and produce consistently good results. It will be interesting to see exactly what newcomer <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/dylan-williamson/"><strong>Dylan Williamson</strong></a> will bring to the table.
<h5>LAKE BRADDOCK (VA)</h5>
The biggest question regarding this year's version of the Bruins is how they will utilize <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/david-solomon-iii/"><strong>David Solomon</strong></a>. It is rumored that he will have the ball in his hands a lot more this year, but that remains to be seen. One thing we do know is that Coach Metress will bring the best out of his group.
<h5>MIDDLEBURG (VA)</h5>
The Dragons should be a lot of fun to watch this year. They feature a nice blend of size, skill, and athleticism across the board.<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/ben-li/"><strong> Ben Li</strong></a>, their 6-foot-6 Lehigh commit, should be a consistent standout. <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jaden-house/"><strong>Jaden House</strong></a> and <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/isaiah-folkes/"><strong>Isaiah Folkes</strong></a> should develop into a dynamic duo in the backcourt while <strong>Xzavier Long</strong> could be their biggest x-factor. <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/cavan-reilly/"><strong>Cavan Reilly</strong></a> is looking like one of the better 2022 guard prospects in Virginia and is also worth monitoring.
<h5>NATIONAL CHRISTIAN (MD)</h5>
National Christian features two of the most talented unsigned seniors you will find in this region, <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/oumar-koureissi/"><strong>Oumar Koureissi</strong></a> and <strong>Arnardo Camacho</strong>. Their 2021 class could be even stronger when you consider the potential of <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jakai-robinson/"><strong>Jakai Robinson</strong></a> and <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/john-izemef/"><strong>Jon Izemef</strong></a>. The Eagles boast good size at every position and should be in a good position to compete at a high level throughout the upcoming season.
<h5>ST. CHARLES (MD)</h5>
The Spartans have a good blend of experience and young talent. They will be led by three very good seniors, <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/max-brooks/"><strong>Max Brooks</strong></a>, <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/tremaine-chesley/"><strong>Tremaine Chesley</strong></a>, and <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/omar-mcgann/"><strong>Omar McGann</strong></a>, who will each bring something different to the table. Junior forward <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/jaiden-butler/"><strong>Jaiden Butler</strong></a> and sophomore guard <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/amir-dade/"><strong>Amir Dade</strong></a> should both grow nicely into their new roles and make bigger contributions than they did last year.
