Loganville, Georgia - It is September and that means high school workouts, fall leagues, and four-man practices have begun or have been in the process already. As teams prepare for the 2019-2020 high school season here in the state of Georgia, I will be stopping by on campuses to spectate practices and/or workouts for some of the peach state's best basketball programs coming into this high school season.

The first stop? Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia. Since the 2016-2017 high school season, the Grayson Rams hold a 68-21 overall record including two class 7A final fours and a sweet 16 appearance in Georgia's highest classification. Head coach Geoffrey Pierce and his staff will have another solid squad this upcoming season headlined by their star 2020 PG Deivon Smith (pictured), one of the nation's top prospects.

The Rams also receive two key transfers. Newly South Florida commit 2020 G Caleb Murphy and Winthrop commit 2020 SG Toneari Lane have both enrolled at Grayson and headline the new big three along with Smith. Murphy, Smith, and Lane should have their chemistry built in already from the grassroots season running with the Atlanta Celtics (GA) in the Adidas Gauntlet. Other guys like 2021 F Ian Schieffelin, 2020 SG Josh Taylor, and 2021 F Taje Kelly will be playing very high quality minutes for the Rams this season as well.

Grayson will not be dodging any smoke this season when it comes to competition, like every season. They are expected to compete in top events this season including the On the Radar Showcase, Jared Cook Classic, Holiday Hoopsgiving Event, TOC Classic, Tournament of Champions, Flying to the Hoops Event in Dayton, Ohio, and the Hawks Naismith Classic in December where they are expected to face the class 7A defending champions, McEachern High School.
