Prospect Spotlight: Ramel Lloyd Jr. (2022 Woodland Hills Taft HS)

<p>You could have argued that The Truth EYBL would have won the 15U title of the PrepHoops Circuit Hustle Region Finals anyway, but the addition of <strong>Ramel Lloyd Jr.</strong> certainly didn't hurt. The versatile 6-foot-6, 185-pound guard is one of the top-ranked prospects in the country and he fit right in to what the team needed him to do on the floor. It was the last stop of the off-season for Lloyd who elevated his early college recruitment and is getting set for a new high school this fall.</p> <p>"My summer was good," Lloyd said. "I played with a few teams, had a couple of good runs, and picked up a couple of offers so that's pretty good."</p> <p>Lloyd noted that over the summer the likes of Dayton, DePaul, UNLV, Fresno State, and TCU all offered scholarships. Manhattan has also recently offered. To say it's "pretty good" to pick up some offers as a rising sophomore would certainly seem like an understatement, but truth be told Lloyd is aiming high and is willing to do what it takes to get there.</p> <p>"It's good but I know I've got to keep working because it's a process," Lloyd said. "I've got to keep working to get to higher levels. I want to be an NBA All-Star and win championships - every kid's dream basically."</p> <p>As noted, Lloyd is a versatile player who can fit in at a number of different positions both offensively and defensively. His combination of size and ball skills creates mismatches against almost any defender out there. At the PrepHoops finale he was near unstoppable scoring-wise without being ball-dominant as he was always looking to create just as much for other as well.</p> <p>Lloyd is always looking forward to new challenges and his next one will be at a new location. After playing last season at Calabasas, the rising sophomore will be at Woodland Hills Taft in 2019-20. "I'm going to a new school so it's going to be new and a different experience," Lloyd said.</p>
