Takhi Chievous 6’3″ Father Tolton (Carroll GoL1ve): One of the younger players at the showcase, the 2022 wing player has a solid skill set and was not afraid to be aggressive on the court. I like his ability to get to the mid-range area and knock down 12 to 15 footers off the bounce. He has good size and a bright future with a strong high school program.
Devion Harris 6’7″ Parkway Central (Brad Beal Elite): The 2020 power forward was a very diligent and productive worker in the two games on Sunday. He battled some bigger kids and held his own as he used his quickness around the basket to make solid plays. He had some nice second-effort plays. His perimeter game has continued to improve as he can now put the ball on the floor and hit a perimeter jumper.
Yaya Keita 6’9″ DeSmet (Gateway): The 2021 power forward was one of the most active bigs in the camp. He brings high energy and he is the king of the chase down block, where he can get out and showcase his running ability in the open court. He is also good at controlling the defensive boards. On offense, had a couple of nice turnaround jumpers on the turn and face. He never cheats you in the effort department. He received an offer from Missouri State after the weekend.
Dez McKinney 6’1″ Raytown South (Marcus Denmon Elite): The 2020 combo guard played with his usual high energy and zest on both ends of the court. He will attack ball handlers on defense and get into the passing lanes for steals. On offense, he is getting downhill on the drive in the half court and looking to push the tempo at any possible opportunity.
Breven McMullen 6’5″ Park Hills Central (Gateway): The 2020 wing player had a very good second game on Sunday, where he was more aggressive and looking very confident on offense. His 3-pointer was working well and he was able to put it on the floor and create some offense as well. His combination of size to go along with his skill set make him a very viable prospect.
D’Anthony Pennington 6’2″ North Kansas City (Team KC): The slender shooting guard is a talented offensive weapon who is always probing the defense in search for buckets. He was able to unleash that high-arching jumper from 3-point range, which is very consistent. His in-between game was solid as well as he used the glass on a couple of pull up jumpers off the bounce.
J.J. Schwepker 6’5″ Fort Zumwalt South (Gateway): The 2020 forward was able to showcase his excellent shooting touch from 3-point range as well as his high basketball IQ. He used the bounce well to create some passing angles and set up teammates for scoring opportunities. He moves well without the basketball on offense and will get inside and get his share of rebounds on the defensive end. He’s an excellent student with a tremendous work ethic.
Adam Sommer 6’3″ Parkway South (Arsenal Hoops): The 2020 guard was one of the most impressive shooters that I watched on Sunday. He knocked down 3-pointers off the catch and also popped in a couple from long distance off the dribble. He brings excellent size and strength to the guard position and combines it with excellent court vision as his passing was also on point.
Dontae Taylor 6’1″ Parkview (Missouri Flight): The 2020 point guard is always going at full-tilt boogie with his ability to attack the basket off the dribble. He loves to get downhill and he did a good job of finishing in traffic against a lot of big players in the lane. He is a fearless competitor that way.
