Thoughts: On the topic of defense, it comes in many forms. From shot blockers to steal-creators. But mentality has a lot to do with it. As does potential. So, this list has current talent and possible future talent.
When looking at those at the post positions, Mabor Majak and Kiyron Powell standout. Actually, it is an incredible amount of their current talent and future upside. They both can rebound on the defensive end and protect the rim well. Maybe Powell has more upside in that regard right now.
Some wings that standout here are Johnell Davis, Tre Coleman, and Kole Hornbuckle. Kole is built a lot on future potential but 6’4 with tons of length and great mobility and athleticism plays well into his talent here. Coleman is a just a physical beast and a guy that can man-up on multiple positions with easy allowing teams to switch a ton more.
Some of the top guard defenders here are Bobby Fry, Grant Taueg, and J.K. Thomas. Thomas is just so good on that end with his aggressive nature and quick-twitch ability. Fry and Taueg are more potential at this point but bigger guards with some length and frames that are going to be helpful down the road.
