Indiana State Head Coach Greg Lansing is in a precarious situation after suffering his fifth consecutive season at Indiana State.
There is a strong chance he would not even be employed in Terre Haute when Maples arrived as a freshman.
Accieding to Todd Golden of the Tribune-Star, “Lansing has two years remaining on his contract. To buy Lansing out, ISU would have to pay him $500,000. In addition to that, ISU would have to pay the salary of Lansing’s replacement.”
Coach Lansing amassed the most wins (148) in program history, but ranks just 11th in winning percentage among Sycamore coaches. Interestingly, the most successful coach in Indiana State is legend John Wooden (1947-1948).
Indiana State recruited and signed Clay County star Tyreke Key. Clayton Hughes signed to Indiana State after prepping a year with Hargrave Military Academy. Originally a star wing for University School in Jackson, Hughes very recently elected to transfer out of ISU.
