One of the upstart grassroots programs out of North Dakota is Inspired Athletics, based in Fargo. While ECI and ND Attack may be two of the more well-known club teams in NoDak, Inspired has a really nice looking roster and should be one of the more competitive teams in the Dakotas.
Here’s a quick look:
Guards: Zion Dettman, Talon Hoffer, Moe Mohamed, Jonah Williams, Dawson Walters, Quincy Smith, Cayden Rickard
This guard group has a chance to really solid as Dettman, Hoffer and Rickard are all all-league caliber guys in the EDC. Dettman was a super sixth man for West Fargo Sheyenne and has range out beyond the 3-point line.
Rickard is one of the most explosive scorers in the Fargo area and is improving as a distributor. He’s an impactful defender on the perimeter as well and should be one of the guys to really keep an eye on with this group.
Williams was one of the best players in the Pine to Prairie Conference and should be one of the team’s best scorers.
Hoffer is a player to watch on this team. He’s a well-rounded player who has been one of the better prospects in North Dakota for a few years. He didn’t have a great season as a junior with Fargo Shanley but some of that may have been because of how much responsibility he had on the court. He was arguably the team’s best player in the Comets Shootout in the first weekend and could garner a lot of interest with a good summer.
Forwards: Francis Chea, Roman Srejma, Puoch Dobuol
This frontcourt is unproven as Chea and Srejma weren’t major minute guys for Sheyenne or Shanley this past winter. But at 6-foot-7 each, both guys will be called upon to provide solid minutes in the paint on a team that looks well taken care of on the perimeter.
Dobuol saw time on a good St. Cloud Apollo team and has the athleticism to be an impactful interior piece.
